How Can I install Quicktime 10.4 or the newest version?

I am currently running OS X 10.9.5. I have Quicktime 7.7 Pro and Quicktime Player 10.3. I am trying to record a tutorial from my Apple iPhone as a device on my MAC desktop through quicktime. I can't seem to have the QT 10.3 recognize the iPhone as a device. I am thinking it is because I don;t have QT 10.4? Not sure though. I can't seem to get it work. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

As stated in the opening paragraph on the web paged you referenced—this is a new feature in OS X Yosemite. If you want to use this feature, you will have to upgrade to Yosemite which includes the newer QT X Player v10.4 app.
