Photos app is automatically importing every picture from photo stream. Even after deleting the photos in photo stream they are still showing up in the photos library. How do I stop auto import? There does not seem to be a way to stop this. It is saving every pic I take with my iPhone. I have to manually delete hundreds of photos I do not want .

On your Mac, how do you have the options in Photos > Preferences > iCloud set? Is either iCloud Photo Library or My Photo Stream checked?

You will get the effect you mention if either both iCloud Photo Library options are set or both My Photo Stream options are set (or all four are set).
iCloud photo library is off on both devices. Photo stream is on on both devices. It has to be a bug within the new photos app. In iPhoto when photo stream is on it gives you the option wether or not to automatically import photo stream pictures. It is a great pain to have to go and manually delete pictures off of my mac that I didn't want there in the first place. For someone who takes a ton of pictures and only wants to save a few of them, this is a big problem.
I am having the exact same issue and it is driving me nuts. In iPhoto you could manually import just the photos you wanted to keep forever and let the rest of them vanish after a while. I am thinking about turning off Photo Stream and just syncing my phone manually, which is really a step backward in my opinion.
It has to be a bug. The only solution is to shut off Photo Stream, which defeats the whole purpose of having PS. Definitely a step backwards. If anybody has a way to correct this, it would be much appreciated.
It looks more like a design decision than a bug. Apple's new model is "all your photos everywhere" within the group of devices linked to iCloud Photo Library. Photo Stream is still necessary to get photos from/to devices not capable of iCloud Photo Library. Apple may not feel one-way transfer is still needed. Obviously you disagree; you should let Apple know through the formal path (http://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html).
