iPod Touch 5 Connectivity Issues.

I (obviously) have the iPod touch 5th gen, I just updated it, and it's only... say... two months old I guess.

Anyway, I use it at work, and I connect to an xfinity hotspot. Or rather, I attempt to.

The signal is strong(normally full strength, depending on where I sit in the office), and sometimes it is great, but other times the iPod will just loose and then be unable to restore the connection. When I go into settings and look at it in the wifi settings instead of a check it just has the perpetual loading wheel, most times it doesn't even tell me that it can't connect, it just... forever loads.. It usually happens if the iPod goes to sleep while I am using an app that uses the internet, but sometimes it just drops. I have turned off the wifi, renewed the lease, turned off the wifi and then the ipod and then renewed the lease again, done a soft reset... pretty much everything I could think of. Sometimes those things work; but mostly I think it might be the hotspot because it doesn't do this on my home wifi, or the wifi at the college I go to(at least I hadn't noticed it doing it there).

I was just curious if anyone else was experiencing this issue, or if there is a known fix that I just missed when I was browsing the forums.

No knowing what you really tried:

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.

Does the iOS device see the network?

Any error messages?

Do other devices now connect OK?

Did the iOS device connect OK before to this network?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Power off and then back on your router

.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network

- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
