Iphone burst
Goodmorning, does anyone seen this? The iphone was not lying in the sun or at the charger. Looks like there is an airbag inside!

Yes, that is something that sometimes happens to very old lithium ion batteries.

Thank you Meg, so 5,5 years is very old for a battery.....
Technology ages quickly!
And from the looks of it, since it burst at the top, where the clips are, instead of tearing out the screws at the bottom, it also probably tore out the cables that connect the screen. If the connectors on the logic board were spared, new screen and battery would be in order, should you have a slim hope of resuscitating the dead.
At one time Apple would replace phones that this happened to for the price of a replacement battery ($79). I don't know if they still do, but there's no harm in asking.
Thank you for your answer! finally it fell apart... so no hope for my good old iphone....
have a nice day
greetings from Italy, Toos
Pity. Look at the bright side: an irrefutable excuse to get a new one!
