To connect a projector to Mac, you don't need any software/drivers/.... just a fitting cable.
A MacBookPro - depends on which one - offers a miniDVI/thunderbolt output, and your projector has a DVI-in, or older models, at last a VGA connector. All standards.
Check the manuals! 😉
Check it twice, there's an unbelievable number of 'flavors' for plugs, mini/micro/whatever ... A colleague of mine, travelling a lot, has a whole shoebox of adapters 😝
You get for any actual plug-combo connectors/adapters ....
At Amazon, starting at 10-15$ ...
When you connect your Mac to the projector, it will detect it, and in the SystemPreferences (upper left on your screen, under the icon),' Monitors', you can decide to 'span' your Desktop across two screens, or to 'mirror' your Macs Desktop on the other device - up to you, and your needs.
Best practice: do a test drive BEFORE the 'hot' show ... 😉
