Can't hear menu effect (click sounds) through Optical cable

After connecting my Apple TV to my receiver through Optical I've noticed that I can no longer hear the Apple TV's menu sounds (click sounds) anymore unless I scroll through a menu real fast.

Is there anyway to fix this?
