If your device falls in small pool of water, blow dry and then immediately cover in a bag of rice. The rice will absorb all the excess water from your phone. And eventually start to work again. It may take a few hours to a full day to work.
if your phone is stuck in headphone mode no headphones and no water contact maybe a little sweat got into the jack. I took two cutips. And pulled off most of the cotton on both so it was a thin piece still on.. Damped one with water, not WET "damp" and kept the other dry. Stuck the damp cutip into my headphone jack and wiped the inside thoroughly, followed by the dry one. This is to remove the excess salt deposits that crystallize after your phone drys. Put my phone back into the bag of rice and it started working in "ringer mode" again.

You do realize that the phone in question fell in the water 10 months ago, right?

Even though the OP is long gone, I feel the need to correct this bit of misinformation: never, ever use a blow dryer on a wet phone. You will just force water deeper into the device,
Sure!
When i have iphone problems,I always look to blogs before i utilize one of my Apple care incidental. I just figured i'd share my experience on a similar incident and how i recovered my iphone. Clearly you were creeping on here because you are... looking for advise i'd assume.
Point proven!
Enjoy your day.
Hey.. you can listen to Meg St. and have a dead phone and a $250 incidental fee for a replacement (OR) you can use a blowdryer and drop in a bag of rice overnight.
This has happened to me SEVERAL times ... this is the method i have used and it worked everytime.
Suit yourself.

Rice good. Blow dryer bad.
Leave it in rice for 4-5 days.
Did you try putting it in a bag of rice? Worked for my teachers phone when he dropped it fishing
try plugging the headphones in and then take them back out

Rice good. Blow dryer bad.
Leave it in rice for 4-5 days.
Fire bad.
my phone was stuck in headphone mode, i used a air can, the kinfd to clean your computer keyboard, and blew it inside the hole, and that worked perfectly, most of the time its lint thats stuck in there, try the air can or a air compressor.
NO more rice advice--ack! Rice is the *worst* thing you can do for your wet phone. It does nothing but delay proper treatmen. You need to get your phone opened up and cleaned BEFORE the water dries on the board. This wait and see and then put electricity through it has killed millions of otherwise repairable phones.
No, what they need to do is take it to Apple and get an OOW replacement phone. Opening it up will forfeit their ability to do that.
