Macbook Pro overheats

Some suggestions:

1. Run Apple Hardware Test.
2. Identify the process or processes that may be burdening your MBP: Runaway applications can shorten battery runtime, affect performance, and increase heat and fan activity - Apple Support
3. System performance problems for reasons that cannot be isolated to any other cause justify an SMC reset. Be sure to read the procedure carefully and follow all the steps exactly as written, even if they seem inapplicable or trivial.

Install iStat menus:

Without actual temperature values no one can tell if there is or is not a heat problem.

Open Activity Monitor to ALL PROCESSES and set CPU to display values from high to low.

When your MBP gets hot, post images of both for evaluation.
