Guten Abend, mein Sohn hat mir über ebay ein iPhone 4s geschenkt. Aber meine Freude ist etwas gedämpft, weil ich ohne dass ich den Lautsprecher einschalte nichts höre. Ist das ein häufiger Fehler, hat das schon Jemand gehabt und was soll ich tun?

Good evening, my son has given me via ebay an iPhone 4s. But my joy is somewhat muted because I do not hear without I turn on the speakers. Is this a common mistake that has already had somebody and what should I do?
There are several threads on sound problems with the 4s.
Some 'solutions' seem to be mechanical, as in removing obstructions from the speaker.
