Listening to pod casts freezes my iPod

I have an iPod 5th generation and the last few days when trying to listen to a pod cast, my iPod freezes up. It fine when searching and downloading but the minute I hit the play button, it freezes. I have to reboot my iPod in order to unfreeze. Was wondering if anyone else was having the same issue and if they were able to resolve it?
