Faces Didn't Transfer to NEW Photos from iPhoto

Before I re-label hundreds (if not thousands) of photos manually ALL OVER AGAIN, is there a way to rebuild my photo library so that it correctly imports the faces that I have identified in iPhoto?

I don't have a backup with this information, so rolling back via time-machine is not a solution that will work. I went to Photos > Preferences... and nothing was visible there that allowed me to "rebuild (or re-import) iPhoto library"

Does anyone have any advice?

So, I followed all the "Fan boy" articles recommendations and spent hrs tagging faces since we were assured they would seamlessly transition to Photos. Ha, Suckers! They didn't!

So, now tagging faces again in photos. (Which actually is not too bad, except,...

Why doesn't Photos suggest names for faces already identified. Even very very very similar (identical) photos?

Why can't we batch the "suggested" photos which know are the same person, and tag them all?

Why does a "group" of unnamed faces shown seem to always be 2?

What aren't additional photos suggested when a face "album" is opened?

Weak.

I had a little different experience. After updating to Photos my faces were available both within the individual photo and in the Faces album. Also, when selecting a specific Face the suggested faces where presented for assignment. After several hours of face assignment I stopped. After a day or two I resumed my task. But unfortunately when looking for suggested Faces I am presented with "No Faces Found" and if I select an existing face no photos are presented. Oddly though if navigating back to the photos album and select a photo I still have faces assigned.

1. Enable the Sidebar: Photos > View > Show Sidebar

2. In Sidebar make sure all albums are displayed

3. Under the Albums heading you should see special albums like All Photos, etc.

4. Click on the album named Faces.

BTW, your iPhoto app and iPhoto Library are still on your drive. They do not get deleted, nor overwritten during migration to Photos.

Well, I'm glad to see I am not the only one who is experiencing this. However I'm disappointed that we are all having this experience. What is the solution?

Everyone else, I agree that the new method of identifying faces is horrible. It's an endless stream of random people and their faces. Worst of all, you can only select ONE AT A TIME... I mean, at least let me click a group of one-person so I can feel like I'm making progress. This is very frustrating. One of the best features of iPhoto was that we could quickly reference people by their face, the 'New Photos App' has failed to deliver.

Again... anyone with a solution other than "go re-identify them manually" would be greatly appreciated!
