Just curious if anyone has received a shipping notice yet for their Apple Watch If they were lucky enough to get an early delivery date (24th). I know if is probably a bit early but worth asking.

Again, we don't know how accurate that reporting is and Apple offered no response to it. That could have been 2,000 watches and could have been test runs for Apple. There is just no way to know so at this point it is pure speculation from a reporter at Time who is repeating speculation from the Wall Street Journal. This is what passes for journalism these days.
People did in fact get their Apple Watch on April 24th. Many people. Apple used the same system with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, when I purchased mine my confirmation letter gave a two-week delivery range. When I ordered my Apple Watch I received a two-week delivery change.
As far as I know there is nobody yet who's watch has been delivered outside the promised delivery range. And Apple is not going to talk, they never have.

I'll tell you guys what happened to me so far in this process.
I ordered two SS (1 38mm and 1 42MM) with Milanese band on the same order a few minutes after ordering started.
The 38 showed a 4/24-5/7 ship and the 42 had 5/13-5/27.
On 4/20 my credit card got the charge for the 38. It didn't change to a preparing for shipment until 4/22. It moved to ship status on 4/23 and was delivered on 4/24.
Also on 4/24 my credit card got the charge for the 42. Status on it is still at processing, but as of today the charge was reversed! The expected delivery date is still sitting at 5/13-5/27. So who knows when it will actually be shipped.
I ordered 42mm SS BSB on 4/10 at 3:03 AM EST. Received my watch yesterday. Very happy with the watch so far.
