Q: Apple Watch Shipping Notices

Just curious if anyone has received a shipping notice yet for their Apple Watch If they were lucky enough to get an early delivery date (24th). I know if is probably a bit early but worth asking.

thanks

UPDATE: My shipping went from available in June, to shipping in 4-6 weeks. That puts it at the end of May which is sooner than June. Really wishing Apple would have not dropped the ball on this release. On a more positive note, it does give us time to find aftermarket bands for a quarter of the cost. Found a link band from monowear that looks promising. We shall see.

I Agree you save for a product then order it and the company makes you wait 2.5 months total crap

Then don't buy a popular product. Shouldn't be very hard to buy a Pebble.

Go cancel your order and let someone else have the watch made by a company you don't like.

So it looks like they went from order times from 03 to at a minimum of through 06 today and there are still a few hours left in the day.  That if moved for the 42 mm stainless steel BSB    That's good news! I know I was relieved this morning when I saw mine shipping for delivery tomorrow and I'm excited for all of the rest of you to actually move that way as well. Hang in there just a little bit more.

2:05 CDT (why does everyone keep posting CST here) for me, I'm still at processing, 42mm SS BSB.

You really do keep missing the point, don't you?

The problem isn't with buying a "popular product," the problem is the way that popular product is being distributed.

Those of us who purchased pink-banded Sports watches are still in "Processing," despite buying them a minute or so after launch, while people who purchased other models are seeing their orders ship, despite buying them hours--or even days--after we did.

The problem is that Apple decided to do fulfillment by SKU, rather than order time. To my memory, this is the first time the company has ever done that. The expectation, pre-launch, was that the "normal" method of ordering and fulfillment would apply: Orders placed earliest would be filled earliest.

I wouldn't have a problem if the pink bands did not exist--if there was some delay in manufacturing--but that's not the case. They just decided to ship in a different manner than ever before and they didn't tell us before.

    Get it?

No, I'm not missing the point.

Apple is apparently shipping by SKU AND date/time. People with times a minute before mine are getting their shipping notifications and getting their product tomorrow. During the sale of the iPhone 6 there were a lot more iPhone 6 than iPhone 6 Plus so some people who ordered a 6 after people who ordered a Plus got theirs first. The only difference here is there are a lot more options.

I don't think the issue with the 42mm SS was the band I believe it was the larger sapphire screen, they just didn't get the yields they needed to satisfy the orders. It is possible that the pink SB that they received were/are flawed and were not acceptable for sending out at that time and they had to reorder. That would back up the delivery dates for those but apparently Apple thinks they will meet the April 24 - May 8 window for delivering yours. If they are going to go past that window they will probably contact all the pinkos and offer a different color, cancellation, or an agreement to an extension.

Right, you're only half-missing the point. The point being this is the first time distribution has been done this way. With no advance warning.

It seems pretty unfair not to have our purchase, simply because they decide to do distribution this way. In the end, everyone will get his watch. It's just frustrating to see it being done this way.

Just as I thought. I am in Chicago and my watch is shipping from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania NOT California.Screen Shot 2015-04-27 at 6.05.06 PM.png

Your not getting your watch yet probably has nothing to do with the distribution, it has to do with availability of bands. And Apple probably didn't know on the 10th this would be an issue, plus they were guessing as to how many people would order them. This order system is the bleeding, edge, first time. It will change next time probably based on what they learned here. If they did not get an acceptable supply of pink SBs your order would be delayed no matter what. Or are you wanting them to not deliver any other watches until yours is available?

Really? You honestly believe that? To my knowledge, NO pink 38mm bands have shipped. You'd have to believe that they weren't anticipating ANY pink bands being sold to believe your scenario.

I was told on chat by a sales specialist that they are shipping by SKU.  Simply put, pink bands are on the bottom of the distribution list.

I even understand why they're doing it this way--it makes sense. But what they should have done was to stop fulfillment for each SKU after a certain point--say an order time of :05, move on to another SKU, etc. Then, after all of the early purchases were filled, come back and do the same, moving on to another time, let's say :10. That would make sense. There are 30 SKUs in the first two Watch categories. That's a lot, but a lot of companies ship far more than that every day. What doesn't make sense is to just go through a particular SKU until they have no inventory before moving on to the next SKU.

Glad yours is moving Scott. I haven't seen mine move yet. Everyone, I agree this is a bit of a mess, however there's no need to get snippy with one another. At least we were all able to preorder in the first place. I submitted my order at around 00:03 PST and got the confirmation email at around 00:07 and have still not seen any movement in my 42mm Stainless with Black Sport Band. Everyone just calm down, at least (as long as no one cancels their order) we'll all get our watches. I sat up until 00:00 (2AM my time) to preorder, I went through everything all of y'all have to preorder my watch. Yes I've pestered CS both over the phone and through the web chat thingie to no avail; we're just all going to have to relax and wait. Yes, I'm a tad bit irritated, but I'm still twice as excited at getting to use a new first-gen product.
