Q: Apple Watch Shipping Notices

Just curious if anyone has received a shipping notice yet for their Apple Watch If they were lucky enough to get an early delivery date (24th). I know if is probably a bit early but worth asking.

thanks

You are right that the confirmation said 4/24 - 5/8

But everything Apple said and did prior to the purchase lead most of us to believe that if we got our order in within a minute or two of midnight, we'd have our watch on the 24th. There are a couple web sites that are cataloging the watch deliveries and others have received the same model as me already.

When I pressed order on my iPhone at precisely 12:02 PST, the website was not even up yet. So yes, I expected it on the 24th.

You know, most here got your point that you were refusing to acknowledge the idea that someone who ordered an Apple Watch in the first 15 minutes of the opening of orders has a reasonable expectation that it would be delivered on launch day the first twenty times you said it.  Playing the broken record game may be a great internet debating tactic (at least it makes the other guy throw up his hands in disgust and walk away), but it doesn't really add much to this conversation and it certainly doesn't make those who did order early and haven't gotten their watches feel any better.  What are you trying to accomplish?

I never saw anything that said that. You may have pressed Order at that time but what is the time on your confirmation email?

Not trying to accomplish anything other correcting one statement. What are you trying to accomplish?

The confirmation said 12:07. But that delay was Apple's fault as was the fact the web site was not up yet. All we can do is press the buy button, and then it's up to Apple to do the rest fairly and honestly.

I paid for it with the same AMEX card that I used to order over a hundred iPads and iPhones in the past (gifts for family and employees).

I'm not the only one with the same experience. There is no way that Apple is distributing these purely based on the time ordered, the confirmation time, or the model.

PS: I don't mind the snarky comments.

No, I don't think they're being distributed solely on the time they were ordered either (whether the time of order or the time stamped on the acknowledgment email). Whatever method Apple is using to push available product out the door seems completely unable to be nailed down, and Apple (as usual) won't talk.

Someone earlier in the thread indicated they had ordered the exact same watch I have (38mm SGS w/ BSB), with a confirmation email showing one minute after mine... and their order has moved out of Processing.  Mine still remains in processing. My account hasn't been billed. I've seen ZERO movement on my order since it was confirmed at 12:16am Pacific Time on 4/10.  Yet others who ordered after me are getting their Watches.  So it isn't strictly "in the order received".

Just like preorders weren't prioritized when a considerable number of Watches made their way to the boutique stores in 5 countries while preorders sit waiting to be fulfilled. If those Watches were available, they should have gone to the preorders first, as that's the guaranteed money.

And Apple's ongoing silence (or the evasions in the very few nebulous statements the press has been able to pull out of them) only exacerbates the issue.

Apple has screwed this launch up big time.

Thanks for the response. I agree that Apple screwed this up big time and Apple is clearly not being transparent about it.

Regardless of the reasons, Apple knew that there was no way we were getting our Watches anywhere close to launch day, and they said nothing. A simple email saying it might be late would have gone a long way to ameliorating the situation.

Everyone know's I'm an Apple fan. So both in my office and the hospital where I work they put it on the calendar. Each day when I came to work they would say XX number days to Apple Watch Day (April 24th). What a joke!

Sometime when this is over, some forensic accountant will review this and then we might find out what actually happened. But it really doesn't matter too much. I just want my watch.

Apple never promised you a watch on Launch day. They gave you a delivery window. Have they missed the promised delivery window you were given? No. So stop whining. You people are pathetic.

IF I remember correctly, Apple had always said that the watch would start to ship on 4-24. it was also available in a few boutiques on 4-24, as stated. If anyone saw something different. please share. However with any item being shipped, you go with the date provided. Thr good news for some they received their watches earlier than expected, good for them. If your expected ship date has passed, then you have an issu. if that date hadn't slipped then what is the issue.

No, i order it at 7:30 am eastern time on 4-10, my expected ship date is 5-13 to 5-27, so i really don't have an issue. I can say i was surprised that ordering it that early would give me a May expected date, but actually I'm ok with that date. I'm thinking I may get it earlier than expected, if that happens I'll be a happy person.

Or you may be sad on 5/26 wondering where your watch is. (Like we are) I certainly hope not !!!  Some people have posted the same or later order time as you and claim the already have their watch. Go figure

Never, Ever, did Apple promise that anyone would receive their watches on the 24th. They said that was the start date for orders to deliver.  This is the problem with people today. We all want it right now, instant gratification. Life does not work that way as you all are finding out. If the delivery window has passed that you received in your emails when you ordered the watch, you then have a legitimate gripe. But to say Apple mislead you is horse puckey. If folks are so upset with Apple go buy a different brand. There are plenty of choices out there. I suspect 99% of you will not. Any Apple fan that has purchased new products when they launch know the demand is high. The reason is they are the best, otherwise you would not be buying it and all of us would not have to wait for yet another great product that we all clamor for....Relax, have some patience, your watch will come.
