Q: Apple Watch Shipping Notices

Just curious if anyone has received a shipping notice yet for their Apple Watch If they were lucky enough to get an early delivery date (24th). I know if is probably a bit early but worth asking.

I got my order on on 4/10 at 12:03 PST - at least that is the time on the email from Apple acknowledging the pre-order. And no, as of this evening my status has not changed from Processing Your Order to Preparing for Shipment.

I sincerely doubt if anyone will see that update until at the earliest next week. And even if they do ship, Apple's policy in the past for new releases is that the shipping company does not deliver before the release date. (Now I am sure that there are some stories about a mistaken early delivery - or perhaps a hefty tip to the UPS or FEDEX driver......)

    I ordered the Apple Watch 42mm with the Milanese loop band at 0301 on 4/10 using iPhone Apple App with a broad expected date of 4/24 - 5/8.   Apple charged by credit card (first indication that things are moving) on Tuesday, April 29th at 0630am.   I received the watch from my usual UPS driver on April 30th at 500pm.  While I watched the tracking information, it seemed a bit random and unreliable for the quick 24 hour shipment compared to past Apple purchases.    Regardless, an email from Apple provided the 4/30 data for receipt of the shipment.

     

    Overall, when they charge your credit card, expect the Watch within 24-36 hours, is my guess.

    To provide more useful data (and to show I can do more than rant... ):

     

    38mm Space Gray Sport w/ Black Sports Band - Ordered 12:13am Pacific Time on 4/10.

    Confirmation Email - 12:16am on 4/10

    Card Charged - Sometime between 10:30pm on 5/2 and 8:00am on 5/3 (I went to bed)

    Status Changed to Preparing for Shipping shortly after.

    Apple Store App notified me of Shipping at approximately 11:40am on 5/3, status changed to Shipped.

    Original promised delivery date: 5/13-5/27

    New delivery date: 5/5.

    soooo apple thinks im stupid...

    me:i was just wondering if production has ramped up or if supplies are getting in more quickly. i know some people that have recieved theirs whithin a week of ordering,

    there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to how the watches are shipped


    Apple: Well right now your order is still processing and you will be notified when it sips out. We are working hard on getting the orders shipped out as soon as possible!

    As far as someone else order and them receiving it, I cannot speculate on that because I cannot discuss anyones orders with you. I do apologize about that!


    me:okay let me dumb it down. is it unrealistic to expect it by or before may 21st?


    and then they still didnt answer really lol. thank you apple for telling me what i already know!

    I ordered two watches on 4/10. 42mm with stainless steel watch and BSB. I also ordered 42mm with Milanese Loop. The one with the BSB was originally set to deliver at end of May, it went to Preparing to Ship yesterday to shipped today with delivery date of Tuesday the 5th. The one set to deliver by May 8th is still Processing. They are on the move. Hang in there.

    Mine took about 4 hours to to ship to get the notice that it is to be delivered the 5th. That said this was my alternate choice and I am liking the 42mm BSB I received last Monday and I may return or put this 42mm Space Grey Sport up for sale...

    Did Apple know that today was my birthday?

     

    When I woke up this morning (0400 PST) I checked my order status and it changed to preparing for shipment. At 2:21 PST, Apple sent me the shipping notice. The UPS tracking site says “Shipped/Billed 05/04/2015” and AMEX lists it as a pending charge dated 05/02/2015.

     

    Apple Watch 42 mm Stainless with Milanese Loop

     

    Ordered at 12:02 PST with confirmation received at 12:07 PST.

     

    The second watch I ordered is still scheduled to deliver in June, but I can’t complain about that. I ordered it late. It’s a gift for a friend and I didn’t know what band she wanted (Pink Sport Band). So I waited until Monday to order it. Her birthday was four days ago (oops!).

    Ok. I'm just seeing orders saying delivery will be 5/13 - 5/27 and they are shipping already. 1 week early.
