Q: Apple Watch Shipping Notices

Just curious if anyone has received a shipping notice yet for their Apple Watch If they were lucky enough to get an early delivery date (24th). I know if is probably a bit early but worth asking.

thanks

I'm not sure if you all did research, but on top of the challenge of releasing a product with many different configurations they also had problems with one of their plants in China that was producing their haptic engine.  Apparently, they were falling apart in the watch after a period of time so all the watches that had haptic engines from that plant had to be scraped and rebuilt.  Due to this issue they were only able to release ~300K watches on the 24th, which is another reason for timing.  I'm just glad they found the issue before I got a watch with one of those bad haptic engines.

My 42mm SS BSB watch is "out for delivery" and I should have it by 4 pm today!  BAM!!!

I Definitely read about the haptic engine problem.  However, I never saw any disclosure from Apple giving any timeline as to when they discovered the problem with the Chinese part and switched to the Japanese part, or exactly how it affected the rollout.  (Or even whether any of the watches with the faulty haptic engines were ones that were sold before they knew about the problem...)

Where did you get your info and numbers?

timestamp on my order was  4 minutes after they went on sale. Still waiting. says anywhere between may 13th and May 27th. overall pretty disappointed in apple's handling of pre-orders . i know they say they are going in order but it does not feel that way. i talked to someone on craigslist who said they ordered that morning and they have there's already ( same model as mine) space grey sport with black band. I understand thats it one of the most popular one's ordered but for people that stayed up and ordered right away , kinda *****.

Rwbinder most of apple info I get off of macrumors.com ( http://www.macrumors.com/2015/04/29/apple-watch-taptic-engine-bottlenecks/ )  I read a ton of technology articles so not 100% sure where I got the number of watches released on the 24th but I think it was WSJ. I'll dig and see if I can find it and post it.

Thats the thing im not overly excited. Apple is a very liked brand and i get that there is hundreds of thousands of orders. Apple should know this as well and be prepared for anything. the way this rollout went is not how i know they operate. the slipped up and thats on them. they are fixing their issue which is good and i will continue to buy things from them but the Apple Watch release was not up to par as it should have been. im still stuck in processing and when my product comes it comes. hopefully next time when i order something from them i hope i dont  wait 2 weeks to 2 months over a mistake they made. thats all im saying.

You're assuming they've made a mistake.  Perhaps they were prepared and knew in advance that orders would need to fulfilled over a series of weeks/months to meet demand.  And that would be why they're still hitting every delivery window that they've promised.  In hindsight there's always "room for improvement," even if something went spectacularly.

At some point recently I also heard that the factory that was producing the sapphire display glass was having problems, so that could have contributed to supply /production delays.

Personally I'd rather wait for better quality control than have to deal with returning a product, and all of the hassle that entails.

So what I cannot understand is the order history. The Stainless Steel are getting shipped, but the same Watches in Space Black don´t change at all. And no one can tell me why.

That was not told to me when the announced it. i did not see them say "when pre orders are available, we will give you a delivery time 2 weeks after the release date" so no it was not. they told me after the fact.
