Q: Apple Watch Shipping Notices

Just curious if anyone has received a shipping notice yet for their Apple Watch If they were lucky enough to get an early delivery date (24th). I know if is probably a bit early but worth asking.

I got my order on on 4/10 at 12:03 PST - at least that is the time on the email from Apple acknowledging the pre-order. And no, as of this evening my status has not changed from Processing Your Order to Preparing for Shipment.

I sincerely doubt if anyone will see that update until at the earliest next week. And even if they do ship, Apple's policy in the past for new releases is that the shipping company does not deliver before the release date. (Now I am sure that there are some stories about a mistaken early delivery - or perhaps a hefty tip to the UPS or FEDEX driver......)

    I received a shipping notice today. I ordered a steel band (42mm) on April 10. I should receive the watch sometime tomorrow (May 21). Also, my account has been charged.

    I wonder if it got to that point of having the apple watch that anyone had on order in stock, at a store that you could complete your order if you showed them proof of purchase that they would let you get one that day? Only if they are for some messed up reason give the stores stock of the apple watches before the people who have already ordered receive theirs.

    You mean if they have a watch in stock that you want to buy can you buy it? Why not

     

    Your credit card hasn't been charged for the other one yet so you could just buy the one in store and cancel the other order

    People who ordered the same watch after me are getting shipping notices and mine is still saying processing. I just contacted apple and they basically said they are working as fast as they can and a bunch of other stuff that made no sence. This is no way to treat a customer. SG BSB 5/29 - 6/11 Still processing...

    You would think that Apple would give all their employees working in the customer service department new information that would help ease the customers complaints about wanting to know more information, on this ridiculous wait time for these watches. I know that apple has good products and that this launch isn't their first kick at the can. They shouldn't release product without a really good stock amount for everything on release day. Along with the fact that they are saying that stores will be possibly stocking the watches in June at some point. That is not something you say unless there is an absolute go for having all the orders on launch and the weeks after launch to have been filled already and before having stock ready for the stores.

    I'm right there with you. This is the first time I tried to get into the hype and preorder one of Apples products. I want the watch but I also now wish I would have just waited for them to come to store.

    So you are saying that Apple had enough iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus availability to provide everyone who ordered a phone on release day? Ummm, no.

     

    This is their first shot at the Watch they had to make certain assumptions and they were conservative. And demand was much higher than availability on certain configurations. This also happens with cars, game consoles, Christmas presents, etc. There is no magic spell where they can just wave their wand and make another 20 million Watch's.

    i totally agree with you, but as they know, this is no ordinary group of people. this AppleNation. I'm fine waiting for my watch, but they should come out

    and say something about where they are right now and what they are doing. It's what AppleNation expects. just talk to them.  that's all i'm saying.

    I absolutely agree with you Jolaca. I would rather here something rather than nothing on what is going on with updates on the watches.

    You must be very new to Apple. They have tighter security than the NSA and they say about as much as a mime.

     

    Their sales reps don't know anything more than you do, they can look at your order and tell you it is processing.

    I'm assuming you got the 42mm, when did you order? I ordered on 4/11 and I'm still waiting. My shipping window was updated to 6/22 -6/29, which still feels like an eternity.
