Q: Apple Watch Shipping Notices

Just curious if anyone has received a shipping notice yet for their Apple Watch If they were lucky enough to get an early delivery date (24th). I know if is probably a bit early but worth asking.

thanks

Since the Apple Watch has no sensors to measure sleep and has never claimed to have them why would you buy the Watch?

Haven't had the battery issue you mention and the Watch does periodically measure heart rate.

I've read it actually does have the sensors and it has the means to record sleep data in the health app.  But Apple has not given it the ability similar to a Fitbit.

In order to track sleep you have to actively tell it you're going to sleep and waking up.

The watch does periodically measure heart rate.  Periodically To save battery. Fitbit measures heart rate continuously with a 5 day battery.

Sorry if I insulted the almighty apple watch.  It's just not up to speed for a $350-$10,000 device when a $150 device does most of your common activity tasks way better.

Returning it tomorrow.  Maybe they'll put out a better device next year.

Always love the guy who picks the $10,000 price tag and compares it to a $150 Fitbit.

The fact that your wife's watch died in 5 hours is because you didn't charge it.  My wife gets 1.5 days and uses the crud out of her watch.

And I like your comment that a "Fitbit" does "most of your common activity tasks"

Does it text?  Does it show you pictures?  Notifications?  Act as a phone? Have maps? Have siri? Have 3000 apps released for it in one month?  Activate NFC payments? etc, etc, etc?  Literally I could add 50 to 100 more things a $150 fitbit doesn't do.  Why don't you mention the $250 Fitbit surge, since it adds a "couple" extra features?  Or is that getting too close to the $350 Apple watch?

Just admit you can't afford it and move on.  Anybody who has a wife who has to work night shift isn't doing very well in the game of life IMO.

When Fitbit goes out of business like Pebble is about to do, then come back and tell me how awesome it is.

Are you serious? Did i really just read that? Someone doesnt like an apple watch and you attack him personally!? WOW!

pathetic! God forbid the man gets married and has a wife who works Because apparently they "arent doing well".

come back here when you grow up and have kids and bills and a house and to maintain and pay for and STILL have extra cash to get someone you love an amazing gift. So what she didnt like it. Thats her choice. But dont attack someone so horribly for no reason.

please everyone troll and flame this dip ****.

good point. You know originally i ordered the 38 mm space gray, at 12:03am on April 10th, but then i went to Apple that same day and tried on the watches. I knew i'd never be happy with the 38mm. it was just too small. i didn't think it was too small for my wrist, i found it too small to be able to work the thing from the screen. so i came back home and cancelled the 38mm and ordered the same watch in the 42mm size. it moved me back in the cue, but it will probably be worth it. still no watch yet.  have a june 3  - jun 5 delivery window.

I know Apple is having a bad start with this watch but you don't need to get personal about it. So what if he dosnt have money don't we all need alittle more money? The apple watch is abit expensive for what it can do and the Fitbit is also a good choice for other types of people. Your saying he can't afford the apple watch but he bought one then is returning it. When I get my apple watch I'm probly not going to like it either. There's all these videos on YouTube showing that it's slow as ****. Might as well just take out my phone at that speed rate... By the way I'm 15 so duces Beeeetch

Haha!  Yea that guy is pathetic.

I dont think the watch was that slow really. And it looked really good. But in order to use it PRIMARILY for fitness/activity tracking as she intended you'd have to monitor three different Apps.  And you still wouldn't get all the fitness/activity features of a Fitbit Charge HR.  If there's anything Apple should steal it's the Fitbit app.  Apple Watch only does intermittent heart rate. Fitbit is continuous.  If you try to check your heart rate on an Apple watch while not in exercise mode it take forever.  Fitbit is instant at all times. And that sacrifice is likely for battery life on the watch which is already not enough.

IF the Apple Watch was on par with the Fitbit in the fitness/activity realm, I could get past having to take it off at least once a day to charge it and then the additional bells and whistles would be really neat to have, FOR US.

FOR US it just wasn't worth it. And I could have afforded two if this one panned out.

MY wife is a nurse who thoroughly enjoys her career. If she didn't want to work we could swing it. But she a smart independent woman.  That angry troll can go sh1t in his hat.

    Yawn...

I will keep making $300k a year at 31 years old, letting my wife help my kids grow up smart like me so they can earn a ton of money and you keep putting your wife to work at night, kid in daycare and acting like a Fitbit is cool.

Peace buddy, I have better things to do than argue with a blue collar minion. The market will prove that the Apple watch is infinitely more popular than the garbage Fitbit.
