Q: Apple Watch Shipping Notices

Here is my update.  Ordered two SS watches April 16th in the evening, EST.  One, 38MM with a white sport band.  The other , 42MM with black classic buckle.  The 38 MM initially had May for delivery, the 42MM was June.  The 38MM was shipped May 4th and delivered May7th.  The 42MM has had the delivery window changed twice.  From June, it first went to June 22-29.  Then about a week ago the window changed to June 16-22.  Last night, May 27th my credit card got charged for the 42MM.  The processing status just changed today, about 4PM EST to preparing to ship, cannot cancel, etc.  So I suppose the 42MM with be delivered in the next few days. 

It took about 5 seconds to get my pulse while not exercising. It does not continually take a pulse unless you are in an activity mode which should be just fine for the majority of people. I'm not sure why your wife would have needed 3 apps for to use it but I guess she has some reason.

I don't put much stock in rumors regarding Apple. I suppose the sensor for heart rate and the gyro could be used for monitoring sleep as poorly as any other device on the market but once they announced the 18 hour battery life any reasonable person would know that it wouldn't be useful for sleep monitoring. But as I said no other device currently out is really very good at doing such although they claim to be.

For most people the sensors on the Watch and the apps will be more than enough (I realize it won't really work as well for Crossfit enthusiasts). My only point was you purchased an item to perform an act that it was already known it didn't do. Sort of like buying a Ferrari and complaining it doesn't get the same gas mileage as an Accord. You are comparing a wearable smart device and watch to something specifically designed for one use.

I doubt Apple wants to steal anything from Fitbit at this time since they are being sued for stealing their technology from Jawbone.

So I just received this from Apple today. Still says 2-3 weeks but is the first email that I have received since placing my order April 14th.

Anyone have any idea if this has any significance?

And yes when I received the email titled "Your Apple Watch Order" I did have a slight moment of hope only to be more disheartened after ...

Okay, to get back on track, my Chief (who doesn't post here) got her confirmation letter at 5:32am CDT on April 10th, Space Grey 42mm, Black Sports Band, received it today, May 28th at 5:45p CDT.

Yeah the same thing just happened to me. I thought it was going to be a preparing for shipment email. This is also the first email I've gotten from Apple other then my confirmation email. Very strange.

      I received that email today also, and had that same unrewarded moment of enthusiasm!  I'm signed up for both email and text updates, and that is the first communication that I have received since my order confirmation (4/23), even though my order status/shipping window has changed 3 times!

Here is my 38mm Watch Sport. I have a Spigen "liquid crystal" case on it and a ArmorShield screen protector on it. I am not a klutz until I have a watch on and then I tend to ruin the crystal screens. I was not willing to spend the dough for the Stainless Steel Watch, especially since it is a first edition. I also work at a steel warehouse so I imagined that I would scratch it there one time and I don't think the protectors look too bad. I am for sure happy with the screen protector but the case I can't quite decide. I have only had it a day so far. It shipped yesterday 5/27. I had to set it so that it doesn't turn on ALL the time when I move my arm, it was draining the battery so fast. So any who here is the pictures.

@MeganJG - Interesting to finally see one of the cases on an actual watch.  Looks good!  One benefit of working an office all day is that I don't band my watches up too bad. Went ahead and got Applecare just in case

As far as the email from Apple.... I see 2 possibilites:  1) There are about to me a **** ton of watches shipping soon OR 2) The email is just an update for everyone....  I am hoping for the first but expecting the later.

My roommate who ordered his 42mm SS w/ BSB at the same exact time as me will see his delivered tomorrow... Hopefully my SG wont be too far behind!

I am in a office but I am also the link to the steel warehouse and am not a klutz until I put a expensive watch on my wrist. My $300 Citizen watch has a deep scratch on the crystal I need to get buffed out. I knew I needed to protect this thing. I ordered a purple case from eBay too. I am wondering if I will ever get it though. Thankfully it was a $3 case. The screen protector is pretty awesome for sure. Enjoy your watches!

Thanks for posting these pics, I was actually considering buying this case but wasn't sure how it would look.  It's not as bulky as some of the others I've seen.

I Bought a 42mm watch with a black sports band around 11am PST om April 10th. My original order date was May 29th-June 11th.  Then it got changed to June 3-5th. Now it just changed again to June 4th to the 8th.

kdmm1 I ordered same watch as you but an hour earlier and my date got moved like yours did but apple also charged my card about 15 minutes ago.  So maybe we will get them by the 3rd.
