Q: Apple Watch Shipping Notices

Just curious if anyone has received a shipping notice yet for their Apple Watch If they were lucky enough to get an early delivery date (24th). I know if is probably a bit early but worth asking.

I got my order on on 4/10 at 12:03 PST - at least that is the time on the email from Apple acknowledging the pre-order. And no, as of this evening my status has not changed from Processing Your Order to Preparing for Shipment.

I sincerely doubt if anyone will see that update until at the earliest next week. And even if they do ship, Apple's policy in the past for new releases is that the shipping company does not deliver before the release date. (Now I am sure that there are some stories about a mistaken early delivery - or perhaps a hefty tip to the UPS or FEDEX driver......)

    Ordered a 42mm SS with black classic on May 1. Original window was June 22-July 8, it shipped last night and I'll have it in NJ tomorrow.

    I love your watch race as well. No matter who wins, you win! You could be right though, these dates may actually stick. Especially for those who ordered the second half of May. I imagine the early May people will get bumped again.

    TThere shouldn't be any more bumps in the mailing of the watches for the early May folks.  It is too close to the drop dead date.  Why really steams me up is the fact that I can order a top of the line Mac Pro and have it delivered on Friday when I am waiting 4 weeks for my Apple Watch.

    On one hand, I am just as frustrated as you are about having to wait for weeks for a 42mm watch when the 38mm watches have been shipping almost immediately. On the other hand, I'm glad Apple found the faulty taptic engines and decided to replace all of them before shipping them out rather than sending faulty equipment. I think it would have been worse if we all paid $400+ for new tech and then they started failing within a few months of getting them. Thoughts?

    My order just hit Preparing for Shipment about 2pm CDT. It still says available to shin in 7-10 days but my understanding is since the status changed, it's due to go any time. 42mm SS Medium BLL ordered on 4/22.

    Was reading an article on BGR saying that they could announce to start selling in stores as next at the the conference next Monday.  you guys think that will happen? Just kind of curious

    I've been hearing that too as something to "keep an eye out for at WWDC." I've heard that is with the caveat of select models and band combinations. If they make 42mm Space Gray sports with BSB available in-store on Monday*, I imagine a bunch of people will cancel their order and just go get it in the store.

     

    *It sounds like the in-store will actually be similar to how you could check stock at a specific time and reserve it for in-store pickup. They did that with the iPhone at the end of the workday around 10pm, and this time around it sounds like they'll do it at the start of the day at 8am.

     

    The reservation timing has been talked about for a while and sounds solid, while the WWDC timeframe is a possibility but mostly just speculation.

    you'll likely see it change status to "shipped" tonight, I'd bet on a Monday delivery.

    Yeah that's the same model I have on order as well. If so I will try and make the reservation if store then cancel my order. If I have a shipment date of June 16-18th. I've waited this long. Another week won't hurt

    My order just changed tonight to prepared for shipping. I had the window of the 16th -18th as of an hour ago, what is the wait time on average that I should be seeing my watch? I ordered last Tuesday which was May 26th.
