Apr 19, 2015 11:58 AM in response to Madinah66by Madinah66,Another piece of information pertaining to windows install on this machine. I did try and install Windows 10 preview through bootcamp also on this machine. Only got as far as the win 10 install screen in bootcamp where it asks for to select Region and language. Keyboard stopped working at that point so it was impossible to proceed. Looks like win 8 is the only viable option so far in bootcamp on the new 12: Retina Macbook...

Apr 19, 2015 12:00 PM in response to Madinah66by MacBook911,I keep trying...
Here is where I am at today. I went in a manually started Bluetooth services in Win 8.1 thinking maybe it would see the hardware. Nope, nada.
Right now I am going to try and use my bootcamp through parallels and see if sparks up the Bluetooth that way.
Other than that, I may be waiting on Apple.

Apr 19, 2015 3:51 PM in response to Nguybaoby Loner T,If this is a fresh install, and you are willing to blow it away, it may be worth a test to try the legacy BIOS method.

Apr 19, 2015 5:51 PM in response to Loner Tby Nguybao,How to do Legacy BIOS method? I just rely on BootCamp to install Windows. Apparently it chose UEFI.

Apr 19, 2015 6:05 PM in response to Nguybaoby Loner T,After you partition the disk through BC Assistant, before you start installation, a hybrid MBR can be created, which will tell the installer to use BIOS mode. One option is to use BCA and delete the current Windows installation, so that it can restore the disk to a single partition OS X, and then manually partition, create the MBR, and use the same installer that you already have built using BCA. The installer supports both methods.
You should also backup OS X.

Apr 19, 2015 8:07 PM in response to Loner Tby Nguybao,I am sorry Loner T. I am not going to throw away my new OSX unless I have a recovery method which I dont have yet.

Apr 19, 2015 8:10 PM in response to Nguybaoby Loner T,If you have not put any personal content on the machine yet, you can always run Internet Recovery to re-install OS X. You can also set up Time Machine on a directly-attached external disk, if you do not have a Time Capsule.

Apr 20, 2015 11:43 AM in response to Madinah66by gihorski,Hey I also tried installing windows 10 preview on the new macbook 12 inch and got the same results. Just wondering did you install windows 8 or windows 8.1 on the new macbook 12 inch because I can't install windows 10 or windows 8.1 on this new machine because you can't use the keyboard or trackpad at the select region screen. Thank you!

If you use a USB3 device which has the Windows Installer, it will not work. You need a USB2 device.

Apr 20, 2015 12:10 PM in response to gihorskiby Madinah66,Hi
I installed windows 8.1 Core Version andy installed fine except for the BT issue. I used an external old flash drive (probably USB 2 as Loner T as pointed out) and exact bootcamp instructions as per Apple. I put an ISO of the win 8.1 on my MAC desktop and ran bootcamp and it automatically put the appropriate Win install and bootcamp drivers on the external USB drive and the install went fine. my keyboard and trackpad worked fine throughout the process.

Apr 20, 2015 1:11 PM in response to Madinah66by MacBook911,Update!
Tried to use my boot camp partition through parallels 10. It does not recognize the partition at all, can not import or used the partition.
Tried to use Winclone to migrate my windows 7 and my windows 8.1 bootcamp partitions. Every time Winclone got to MBR it froze up for hours.
Bottom line is that it appear there are limitations in place either hardware or software.
So for now I am using a usb mouse that I have to plug in and unplug to charge the MacBook. I just might return this thing....
