Is My Photo Stream complete bullxxxx?

My iPhone 5 says I have 177 Photos, C:\Users\Bob\Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream has 80 photos. Computer\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream has 9 photos and won't update with photos I've taken today or in the last 30 days. Should I continue to lose faith in Apple? Or is there still some hope to be had?
