Since I have never done this before. My iOS is 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.10. I recently downloaded Google Chrome because I could not access news programs and secure sites. Prefer to upload newer version of iOS and Safari, but unsure which iOS to choose. Any assistance appreciated. Have Processor 3.06 GHz , Intel Core i3, Memory 4GB 1333, MHzDDR3 Macintosh HD

If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

Thank you for your prompt response. So, it looks like I can upgrade my iMac. The memory is a 4GB, 1333 MHzDDr. I have a 3.06 GHz processor with an Intel Core i3. So if Yosemite is 5 GBs that's not a problem? Do I remove Google Chrome before or after I download Yosemite, and how do I do that? Sorry for all the questions........ Thank you, Cate
