This afternoon, it took well over five minutes for Pages to open. This has been a problem but I hadn't actually timed it before. Suggestions?
2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 G Memory maxed out on my MacBook Pro.
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
What version of Pages?
How much free space do you have on your hard drive?
OS X likes 20%
Also how many Apps do you have open at the same time?

I deliberately quit all programs before the "test." So, on other apps were running or open. I have 52 Gig free on the hard drive. The version is 5.5.2

I think part of the problem is that Pages attempts to open a previously created document on iCloud. This then requires Internet speed and capacity though this morning, Safari was operating very quickly with the Comcast service we have. When I 'instructed' Pages to open a document on the computer itself and not iCloud, documents appeared instantly.
Pages is slooooooow to open.
