Hi,
i am using mac book pro retina 13, OS 10.10.3, before updating the system, my machine is working well. but after update, startup is delay so long and shut down also taking longer time.
please help.

Open Activity Monitor to ALL PROCESSES and see what applications are using the most resources. Spotlight may be reindexing your MBP.

Apple released an update to correct the slow startup of 10.10.3 - Launch the App Store and check for the update.
If your startup is still slow after the update open System Preferences, select the Startup Disk tab and choose your internal drive (probably called Macintosh HD)
This fix worked for me, but not until I did the second part, selecting the startup disk, etc ... Strange, but thanks!
