Q: Iphone imei lock

Hello,

my iphone was stolen, brand new without iclod or apple id. If the thief will start using it as if it's brand new, can be blocked by imei or to locate it?

I own a lot of apple products and i can proof that I own it.

This iphone was bought abroad but stollen in my country so the operator can't help me.

Thank you

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.2

    ok tnx for the info

i very sure romania can kill switch cellphone just using IMEI

got to national regulatory authority for communication in your country, they can help you whether to locate the phone using the IMEI of block the phone IMEI for using any other sim card

but for me , i cant asure you that they could locate device , i think they can only kill switch or block from usage of the iphone

Apple has nothing to do with this at all.  The carriers control access to their networks. If your carrier offers blacklisting, you should be able to report it stolen and have it blacklisted. Either way, there is no point contacting Apple as they can do nothing about which network an iPhone can or cannot connect to - they do not own nor control the carrier networks.

    Thanks everybody.

the ideea is: my iphone is operator free, i can buy any prepaid sim card from any operator.

Let's say the thief will start using it and create apple id and so on. Can apple block it in icloud if it's detected as stolen device???

IN my country are stupid rules, i already reported as stolen to police.
