How do I stram Netflix from iMac to Apple TV 1st gen?

You can't. If you want Netflix on Apple TV you will need a newer model.

Thank you Vazandrew. I will order a new model. They are substantially cheaper than the 1st gen. I paid $200 back in 2009. I have been quoted a price of $69.00 plus tax. It is definitely time to upgrade.
