I take photos in RAW JPEG. How can I export the RAW file from the new Photos to Photoshop Elements? Thank you

I have upgraded from IPhoto to the new photos. I tend to take photographs in RAW and JPEG but having uploaded them to my Mac I can only see the JPEG files. Please can someone advise me how to both see the RAW files and export them to Photoshop Elements for editing, as before?

Thank you

It's cumbersome unless someone has found a better way.

The RAW/JPG pairs are 'stacked' and by default JPG is selected with a small J on the thumbnail.

To use the RAW you need to double click the photo and then choose edit in top right once in fullscreen mode, next you go to the Image menu and select Use Raw as Original.

You would then need to use File>Export>Export Unmodified Photo to save the photo somewhere and next open or import that to Photoshop.

(You can also drag and drop a thumbnail to export but you need to hold alt down to export the original JPG or RAW depending on which you've chosen to edit).

Sadly there seems to be no easy way to change the 'edited' file from JPG to RAW for several/a selection of images.

Okay, so I followed the instructions to make the RAW file the dominant one, and I held down alt and dragged the photo to the desktop and it exported both RAW and JPG. Thank you! No pop-ups for me, it worked straight away doing it both from the thumbnail and from the expanded image. Is there a way of setting this as a preference so we don't have to do this to every photo - it will get really annoying when I import a thousand holiday snaps!! Also, can we delete just the JPEG half of the pair?
