superdrive disappeared desktop

superdrive on Mac Book Pro has disappeared from my desktop

Has been gone for a year

can’t be found

I have a disc in the slot

Wont eject

Is there a way of reinstalling the drive?

Processor 2.53 GHz In Co i5

OSX 10.10.3

Try these options:

Credit Kappy.

If no success, your DVD drive may be broken. You can open the MBP and take it out and take it apart. If you are not mechanically inclined, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and they will take the disk out for you.
