confirmation email not received

I've setup ApplePay, stepping through each part of it without an issue. However, I don't get the confirmation email that's required.

I tried deleting the card then adding it again but had the same result- nothing from Apple (yes, I checked spam). And I do not see a way for the ApplePay app to resend the confirmation email.

Things seem to be working as i did try a different card only to learn that the issuer doesn't participate.

I'm using latest updates as of 4.17.2015.

Any ideas?

Required? I do not believe there is any email required for any part of Apple Pay.

It seems to me that I received an email from the credit card issuer ... eventually. But once the card was set up, it could be used immediately.

I suggest you not be concerned with receiving (or not receiving) any email.

Apple does not send confirmation emails re: ApplePay. The only time they do is if you put your phone in "lost mode" via Find my Phone to inform you that Apple Pay has been disabled. Once the phone is taken out of lost mode, they will send you an email telling you that ApplePay is active again on your phone.

Each issuer has their own (often different) validation protocol. AMEX will add your card without any further action on your part once you have added the card to ApplePay. They will send you an email saying that your card has been added. The email can arrive anywheres from minutes to hours (or days) after the card has been added. You can, hover use the card right away.

Citi/AAVANTANGE requires you to validate the card verbally by calling a toll free number. You will talk to an agent who will then confirm your identity. You can initiate the process by clicking on an email link or calling the number shown on the card in ApplePay.

Have you tried using the card you have added? Contact your card issuer.

GGood info and thanks.

After entering the data, the next screen shows a picture of the Amex card. Text bbelow says "Code Requested"; "An email was sent to (email address)". The email address happens to be my Apple ID address although I might have given that email address to Amex as well.

Then there's a box around text "enter code". Below that is a link to select a different verificaction process. Going there though only shows the same email.

thats why I thought it was coming from Apple. And so far nothing from Amex after 24 hours. Getting them on the phone isn't very appealing:-)

I am thinking its long enough so will delete and try again.
