Hi,
Ever since I updated to the new 10.2 of FCPX I've been getting an export failed error 10008 when I try to export.
My Specs:
OS X 10.10.3
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)
Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris 1536 MB
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), 8gb RAM
16 GB RAM would make that system run smoother. But, aside from that, more information is needed.
- What type of media is in your Timeline that you're trying to export?
- What is the duration of your Timeline?
- What is the capacity of you system drive, and the amount of free space on it?
- Are your Libraries and media on a secondary drive?

Really? 8GB free is asking for trouble. Any drive should at least 10-15% free space, and even more for a system drive. Your system is likely to run very slowly even for normal operations.
So to export your project, you'll need to free up some disk space. How much depends on how big the export is. But, really…if you intend to work very much with video, you need to get an two external drives - one for your media (including your libraries) and another for backup.

I thought it was disc space, just I never had any trouble with FCPX and low disc space before 10.2. Thanks
P.S. I freed 22GB, which is not much I know, but still I got the same issue.
Then I decided to try to send it to Compressor 4.2 and I was able to export the project as a .mp4 fine from there.
So I guess it is a bug in FCPX 10.2 or 10.2 is extra fussy about disc space.
