FCPX 10.2 3D text requires more RAM than i have, whats the fix

Get a computer with a GPU that has more RAM.

How much RAM do you have. If running Yosemite, at least 2GB. FCPX requires at least 4GB, for 3D titles 8Gb is recommended so again adding more RAM if you don't have at least 4GB would be the solution.

Whether you can go up to 8GB or not depends on your exact model of Mac.
It's the NVRAM minimum of 1 GB that you need for full resolution of the new titles.
So the solution is to upgrade the computer, assuming the GPU is not replaceable.
Or accept the lower resolution for those titles.

I have maxed out my ram 32GB, VRAM is 512. and it looks i can't upgrade it,
Is there a way to borrow some RAM from 32GB storage?
the latest upgrade on FCPX 10.2 added 3D graphics and apparently want more VRAM than i have availble

2.9 GHz Intel Core i5
32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB
VRAM is on the GPU card, and is not physically the same as CPU RAM. 512 is very little for video editing, much less compositing and effects. If you have anything besides a Mac Pro, you are not able to upgrade your GPU card, where the VRAM resides. Only way to do increase VRAM is a new GPU card.

I must say that a cursory look at the much lauded 3D Titles has left me somewhat underwhelmed, so I suggest you try them out and see whether the effect pleases you or not.
IMHO hey certainly don't merit the purchase of a new computer . . . . or any expenditure at all.

That is up to you to decide.
AFAIK the lower resolution is when editing, it should still export correctly, but I don't have a similar machine to test on. Just try a small project, export, and see if the result suits your needs.
To Ian's point, the 3D titles are attention-getting, but practically speaking, I could imagine going for a very long time without ever wanting (must less, needing) to use them.

Alas, yes.
I may have been a little premature in my comments deprecating the new FCP X 3D titles!
As I stated, they were based on a cursory look which did not reveal their full potential . . . they are indeed impressive.
However, as others have suggested, we must try to avoid the mistake of creating mediocre films with gob-smackingly awesome titles.
