friends emails to junk

My most important business and close personal friend's emails are suddenly going to junk. These people are in my contacts.

I believe a virus was introduced when an employee clicked on a bogus security alert link and it froze his computer about two weeks ago. I had to force quit Safari and reopen holding down the shift key as I found out here on this forum.

So, any help out there or similar experiences?
