I'm having trouble with Apple TV not playing purchased movies...

I'm having trouble getting my Apple TV to play movies I've purchased on it. It shows that they are there, and let's me play the extras and bonus material, but not the actual movie. It keeps stating that it is having trouble connecting to iTunes. ive tried to restart it a couple times, but this hasn't fixed the issue. Do I have to reset it?

AppleTV 2, iOS 8.3

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are connected to a network but cannot play content. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
