Spacebar too sensitive

I just randomly noticed this one day, and i can't really pinpoint it to a certain event that could've made it happen. if my finger barely floats over the spacebar, then it will make a space. sometimes it even makes random spaces where there shouldn't be one like t h i s, for example. but this only happens since my fingers are just near the spacebar. i read online and it says it's not good to remove your spacebar so i can't go under and look to see if there's anything there. any thoughts on what i should do? i will probably go to the apple store soon about it. also, in feb, some baby powder spilled all over my keyboard but the spacebar thing didn't start until march maybe? if you have experienced this or you have any tips that would be great. thanks 🙂
