Monitor Dell u2715h to iMac mid 2011 21.5-inch

As I can see in other post and through the internet, Dells monitors do have compatibility problems with mac devices.

So I would like to know if anyone has tried connecting this Dell U2715H to a mid 2011 imac.

Some users have confirmed it is working fine with 2012 27-inch iMacs, but other users with older devices (2009) won't make it work.

have the same mac and was using a dell g2410 for years without problems these days I changed to an asus vg27a both was connected by a tb->dvi connector

the dell is now ext monitor for wifes 2009 macbook pro
