Unable to install Nvidia Drivers in windows 8.1
Hi,
I have windows 8.1 installed (via EFI) on my 15" Retina Macbook Pro. I have attempted to install the Bootcamp drivers I downloaded from the Boot Camp Utility and it seems to fail every time leaving me to manually load drivers for various things, wifi, Bluetooth, graphics.
Bluetooth and Wifi I have sorted, and I have managed to install the Intel Integrated graphics, but whenever I try to install the Nvidia GT650M drivers the screen goes black during the install and never comes back. If I force the machine to restart I see the spinning balls thingy and then the screen goes black every time. I have tried both the drivers that Apple have provided as well as downloading the latest ones from Nvidia.
The only way I can get back into the system is to boot into the Mac partition and delete the NVidia drivers from system32, I can then get into the system and uninstall them which changes the adaptor back to a generic Microsoft one, which seems to work but is not ideal.
Anyone got any ideas? I'm out of ideas on this one? Is there any other system driver (FSB, chipsets e.t.c) that may not be installed properly that could be causing this. Or is there some kind of driver for the retina display I need to install?
Help appreciated!
Thanks
Gareth
