Alternative to the Drawing Part of Appleworks 6?

Appleworks 6 is no longer supported by my operating system (OS 10.9.5) and I would like to find an App which is similar to the

Drawing part of Appleworks 6.

The free LibreOffice will open many of your legacy AppleWorks 6 documents (including drawings), so previous work is not lost. The LibreOffice suite includes their Draw application, which isn't too bad for free. Peruse the LibreOffice 4.3 Draw manual (PDF) to see if it provides the strength you seek, or if you need one of the many drawing applications available via the OS X App Store. You may also want to take a closer look at Intaglio as it imports older ClarisDraw graphics. They have a free trial available from their website, and it is also in the mentioned App Store.

Providing your system has the available memory to do so, you could also purchase OS X Snow Leopard Server ($20), and install it in Parallels Desktop for Mac. AppleWorks 6.2.9 has been shown to work in this virtual machine environment as a means to continue using AppleWorks 6 — concurrent with your present OS X installation.
