Updated my Mac software and iPhotos fail because of my region

hello,

i bought my macbook pro 3 years ago in the US. now i live in israel.

i Updated my software to the latest version, and now, theres is a big X on the iPhotos logo. when I'm trying to get into the app it says that i need to download the latest version of the app, when I'm trying to do that, it says that i can't because the app is not currently available in the Israeli Store.

the problem is, that i have kept all of my photos and videos using this app, and it organised with it. now, i can access to the photos with the "All my files" folder, but as u assume, it is a lot of pictures that are not organised in any way there.

what can i do? is it possible to get the iPhotos although I'm living in israel?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1

If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash

Install the App from the App Store.

Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
