can't access netflix

my apples tv model A1427 only shows computer and setting on the start menu.

Are you trying to do an initial set up on a new Apple TV unit? I had the same thing on my screen. After hours of trying different things, and reading so many ideas on this site, here's what solved this for me:


On Apple TV: Settings / General / Network/ WIFI, and change the wifi from your home network, to another one (I used a personal hotspot on my mobile) & this worked immediately. Once it accepts the wifi pass word and says you're connected (or something similar) use the Menu button on remote, to go back (repeatedly) until you arrive at the screen of multiple apps and options including Netflix. Then, go back into settings and change your wifi back to your home wifi network. It worked for me and I am now (finally) enjoying Netflix on my TV 🙂 Sorry if this sounds confusing, hope this helps!
