Time machine does not restore backup

After my iMac crashed, it prompted me to restore from my Time Machine. I started doing it, but about 20% and 4-5 hours later, I got a message saying 'Cannot find any connected Time Machines' . And I could actually see the connected volume of Time machine on the Desktop!

Please help, 700Gb of Data are at stake!!
