Q: Windows not starting after resizing the Partition..

Hey guys

i've got a huge problem.

I have an iMac 2007, running both, OSX and Windows via Bootcamp. All worked fine, till i wanted to resize the OSX Partition to increase the Bootcamp one. I already did this one time, but this time this did not work. My OSX works perfectly, but Bootcamp doesn't start anymore. I can select it in the bootmenu, but it just says 'missing operation system...'. I already tried rEFIt, but this did not worked, it just synchronized something.

Here is a screenshot of my harddrive in disk utility:

If you need this, i have done this too:

I know this problem is well known here, but i didn't found any solutions on my specific case here..:(

Thanks for your help!

Sorry if my english isn't on a that high level, i'm german

Do you have any third-party NTFS software?

    Can post the output of

    diskutil list

    sudo dd if=/dev/rdisk0s3 count=1 2>/dev/null | hexdump -C

I rebooted, and my Windows first did not start. There was an option to reboot again or to repair. I rebooted and it started, just as usually but after restarting, to get to osx again, no os was there. no option in the startmenu.. i wanted to boot from my 10.6 dvd, to at least see disk utility and suddenly both operating system appeared again, i booted into osx and all is fine here.

Do i have to do anything else now?

Can you switch between OS X and Windows using System Preferences and Control Panel -> Boot Camp?

Use System requirements to install Windows on your Mac via Boot Camp - Apple Support and Boot Camp: Install or repair Boot Camp drivers, if necessary.

You need to back up both OSes. You also need to get Recovery HD in place. You can re-install OS X to get you Recovery HD back, but only after you back up both OSes.

Yes, i can select my start volume. For what exactly do i need to restore the Recovery HD? I just use Windows and i'll by a new computer in 2months...do i really need to install osx again?

Recovery HD allows you to perform Recovery functions, or restore the system from a backup. You can use Internet Recovery, if supported by your Mac's firmware, but if you do not have an internet connection, local Recovery is your only option.
