Why won't my apple tv play my HD movies? It takes up to an hour to download them, but I get too frustrated and give up. My SD movies play fine. I've tried to lower the resolution, but that hasn't worked. I'm sure I'm doing something silly, but I don't know what!

Need more details about your home network and Internet service provider to even take a guess.
I.e., is your ATV connected via WiFi or hardwired (Ethernet)? What sort of router do you have? What download speed does your provider provide?

After some googling and what not...our ATV is connected via WiFi. We have a Telstra router (internet provider's router) and Telstra tell me that I should be getting up to 20mbps. I've just done a download speed check and it's telling me 4.8mbps. Is this where my problem is?
Yes. 4.8Mbps is not enough (an instant 1080P stream needs at least 8mbps). If your plan allows for 20mbps then best to contact your ISP
