iMac, Logic Pro X and MIDI connection failure?

I can not get any sound in either Logic Pro X or Garage Band from my Oxygen 88 MIDI Keyboard. I have tried various slots in my iMac. The keyboard is getting power from the iMac. It had worked fine for weeks but has not simply stopped. I use a standard USB cable connection. I don't know if it is a hardware, connecting or software problem?

Have you checked OS X's Audio/Midi utility found in your applications/utilities folder?

Switch view to Midi to see if your device is listed there.. (and if there are any others there that might be conflicting with your Oxygen)

If it is.. Unplug your Oxygen, Delete the reference to your Oxygen and any other controller keyboards in there.. in the Midi page in the audio/midi util and restart your Mac

After restarting, plug your keyboard back in and wait about a min.. Now test...
