How to stop deleted photos syncing to iPhoto

How do I stop photos I have deleted from my iPhone 5C appearing in iPhoto when I sync my photos to my computer?

Also, videos no longer seem to sync onto iPhoto. How else can I sync them onto my computer so I can view them on the computer?
