Tried a lot of ways but can't seem to get printed URL to become a link. Same problem if I pick up from Safari and drop in.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4)
Be sure you don't have your mail message formatted as plain text.
Look under format.
OS X Yosemite
When you are on a website page, click "Share" button in the Safari Toolbar and select "Email This Page"
When New Message window opens up, select Send Web Content As: "Link Only" on the right side under the header.
Note: I don't have OS X Lion installed to test.
