Multiple Airport Expresses

Can one use multiple Airport Expresses with a single (Comcast) modem?

We need more details about what you might be thinking about here. For example......

What make and model number of Comcast modem do you have?

Will all of the AirPort Expresses connect to the modem with a wired Ethernet connection?

Will some Expresses connect to other Expresses wirelessly?

Thinking about your proposed network.....what exactly will connect to what?

The more details that you can provide, the more accurate our answer will be.

I have one Airport Extreme as the main station, then 1 airport express to get the signal around further in then house. Now bought another express to get the signal even further away from main station. Airport utility find the second express, but it wont go from yellow to green. All settings are exact the same on both express, except for IP- adresses. What to do.

OK, thanks, we got that.

Unfortunately, you did not indicate whether this Express connects to the AirPort Extreme using a wired Ethernet connection.....or.....whether the Express connects wirelessly to the AirPort Extreme.

Can you clarify on that?

This sounds as if you may be trying to have Express 1 connect wirelessly to the AirPort Extreme and then have Express 2 connect wirelessly to Express 1. If that might be the case, then you may not be aware that Apple's "extend" feature will only allow the network to be wirelessly extended one time, not two.

You can have multiple Expresses extending the signal wirelessly, but each Express must connect to the main base station.....the AirPort Extreme in your case. To do this, both Expresses need to be about the same distance from the AirPort Extreme....and....both Expresses need to be closer to the AirPort Extreme than they are to each other.

Another way to think of this is that Apple's "extend" feature works like the hub and spokes of a wheel. The AirPort Extreme is the "hub", and each Express sits at the end of a separate "spoke". As you can see, each Express connects directly to the "hub" or AirPort Extreme, and not to another Express at the end of a another "spoke".

Please start a new post for this and include the model numbers of the AirPort Express devices that you have. The model number is located on the side or bottom of the Express and starts with an "A" followed by four numbers.

It is hard to see, so you may need a magnifying glass and good lighting.

In addition, we need to know what operating system you are running on your Mac or PC, or whether you might be trying to use an iPhone or iPad to set up the new Express.

If I see your post, I will answer, but there are also other very well qualified users who can answer questions as well.
