wacom cintiq 13HD & yosemite driver problem

new 15" macbook pro working on a cintiq 22" at work & with the current OSX 10.10 drivers ( 6.3.11-w3) . everything works fine.

just bought a Cintiq 13HD for home use & drivers don't work (no prefs & pen doesn't work). i've researched it online & it looks like it's been a persistent problem with wacom drivers and yosemite since october last year. it comes up as a display, but the pen doesn't function. pen works fine on the 22" cintiq at work so the pen & cables are not the issue.

yes, i've emailed wacom with little to no help from them. have 2 service tickets already.

DRIVERS

6.3.11-w3 : (current drivers for 10.10) : error

6.3.11-3a : error

6.3.10w2 : error

6.3.8-2-2 : error

tried various fixes i found online with no luck

:: systems pref set to 32 bit : no joy

:: wacom tablet driver added as startup item : no joy

:: legacy drivers going back almost a year : no joy

:: legacy drivers + working wacom preference file restore : no joy

:: manual removal of any lingering wacom drivers prefs "sudo rm -R //.any wacom latent items" then reinstallation of legacy driver : no joy

really unfortunate that wacom is dropping the ball on supporting their more expensive line of products and apps like Astropad seem to be a cheaper & more reliable alternative.

anyone else have a problem with Cintiq 13HD & yosemite? i have a wacom tablet that works, so i don't need any advice on other wacom products.

after about an hour long call with wacom where we uninstalled & reinstalled drivers & deleted various files, it turns out the possible fault is a faulty 3 in 1 cord. the agent said it was his suspicion from the beginning. problem with the usb connection on the cord itself. we tried the 2 usb ports on my laptop with no luck. i even tried hooking my working wacom tablet to the usb port of the cintiq & there was no power to it. so i do suspect the cord is the problem.

it's going back tomorrow. but i really loved the size & portability if only it would work. so i'm gonna take my laptop into the store & see if i can get one that works with my computer.
