Safari freezes on certain sites like 9gag, site opens in other browser without a glitch.

When i open 9gag in Safari & scroll down a couple of posts, safari freezes and the spinning ball appears, and i have to quit safari. The site opens successfully in Chrome & Firefox installed on the same system. When i checked the error log, i got the following error:

"Blocked a frame with origin "https://apis.google.com" from accessing a frame with origin "http://9gag.com". The frame requesting access has a protocol of "https", the frame being accessed has a protocol of "http". Protocols must match."

It also shows the following warning:

[Warning] Unexpected CSS token: : (gag.42c004cd.min.css, line 1, x3)

[Warning] Unexpected CSS token: : (gag.42c004cd.min.css, line 2)

[Warning] Invalid CSS property declaration at: * (follow_button.7c0d5c8fc0456a01b74fed2e38018608.en.html, line 1)

What could be causing this issue and is there anyone else facing a similar issue with Safari ?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
