m4r file isn't accepted into iTunes?

You have a duplicate file(s) name in your iTunes Library. Do a search for it and delete it/them. Then drop your file in the Tones portion of iTunes. I take it you created a ringtone.

Drives me nuts when it does this. Did you change the name of the file? Close iTunes and restart. Let me know what happens.

Open iTunes. Go to the General tab, no not insurance tab. then go to Import Settings, select the audio format you want.
